 This Basic Instructor Certification course is designed to provide the basic concepts of instruction and to increase the quality of professional law enforcement training. This course introduces the student to the teaching-learning process, phases of the teaching-learning process, factors affecting learning, needs assessment, task analysis, developing learning objectives, preparing a lesson plan, and methods of instruction. The students will be taught how to develop and use instructional media to enhance their presentations. In addition, the fundamental techniques of developing testing and evaluation procedures will be presented. Each trainee must demonstrate the basic knowledge and skills required to effectively instruct a lesson during two teaching exercises.

 A Field Training Officer (FTO) is responsible for mentoring, training, and evaluating probationary officers during a structure training program. The role of an FTO is critical in helping new officers transition from the academic or academy setting to the real-world environment of law enforcement. 

Field Training Officers play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of law enforcement officers, ensuring they are well-prepared to serve and protect their communities.

The Advanced Field Training Officer will develop experienced training professionals and training program administrators.   

This course offers advanced techniques in developing cognitive and physical teaching styles that are effective and measurable. Teachers & trainers of all disciplines can successfully apply their subject content for obtaining effective results.
